Kabbalah Studies @ JewishROC

Our signature Kabbalah Program offers multi-level classes for the curious dabbler to the seasoned seeker. Our Kabbalah classes draw a wide audience from a broad spectrum of Jewish backgrounds.

Our comprehensive program begins with our six week Introductory course which builds a strong foundation in basic Kabbalistic concepts and vocabulary.

Students who wish to pursue their studies in Kabbalah, can register for our popular Intermediate course which applies the concepts learned in the Introductory course to the analysis and examination of classic Kabbalistic texts, such as the Zohar, the Bahir, and Sefer Yetzirah. We explore the ideas of key figures in the transmission of Kabbalah and examine trends and patterns in the “uncovering” of this hidden knowledge.

Students who complete the Introductory and Intermediate course may choose to participate in our small group Advanced class, which concentrates on specific texts for analysis and interpretation.

For more information, class times or to register, read below.

Introductory Kabbalah

The Introductory Kabbalah class dives head first into the big questions that few teachers dare to address: What is the purpose of life? What is the Jewish perception of death and reincarnation? How do we bring ourselves closer to God?

This class sets the foundation for further study by introducing key concepts and vocabulary unique to Kabbalah. Students learn about the multiple universes, the multi-level soul, the power of the Hebrew alphabet and the relationship between scientific phenomena to Kabbalistic perspectives. Students leave our class with a clear understanding of the difference between classic Kabbalah and the now trendy “Hollywood” Kabbalah.

Registration is required and the cost is $36. To register contact Dawn Hardgrave.

Intermediate Kabbalah
Thursday evenings: 7:00-8:30 p.m.

This class takes key concepts learned in the Introductory class to a deeper depth and a greater level of exploration. The Intermediate class explores and analyzes key Kabbalistic texts and begins to connect Kabbalah with Torah, using text to expose students to the layered meaning and hidden interpretation of the written and oral law. The cost per session is $36 and includes 6 classes. To register contact Dawn Hardgrave.

Advanced Kabbalah
Thursday evenings: 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Our Advanced class is a text-based course for students who have completed both Introductory and Intermediate Kabbalah. This class is structured around specific books and original sources from the masters of Kabbalah. Students learn to decode complex Kabbalistic texts and uncover the mystical meaning hidden in the language of the great works. This is an ongoing class. To register contact Dawn Hardgrave.
