Beginner's Crash Course I (NJOP’S Reishit Bina book)
- Beginner class is held on Thursday's from 6-7 p.m.
This class is the starting point for anyone with little or no knowledge of the Hebrew language. The course focuses on teaching the Hebrew alphabet and reading skills. Students are exposed to simple sentences and some basic prayers. This class is an 8 week course. Homework is assigned after each class to review the material that was covered in class. Flash cards and a tape of the book are available to support learning.
Price: $40/member, $60/non-member, includes workbook

Monday, November 3 – November 24 - intro 101 – this 4-week class will introduce the following:
- Letters of the Alef Bet
- Vowels
- Beginner’s vocabulary

Thursday, November 6 – December 25 - intermediate 201 – this 8 week class will introduce 8 basic prayers and will focus on the following:
- Decoding skills
- Roots of words
- Possessive endings
- Pronouns
This class is for those who can read but want to expand on their comprehension of the prayers. An assessment should be made with the instructor prior to registering. Monday, December 1 –January 19 - intro 102 – this 8 week course will reinforce your reading and introduce the following:
- Reinforcement of the letters and vowels
- Basic vocabulary
- Most common prayers and blessings
This class is for those who know the letters and vowels and can read very basically but want to expand on their vocabulary and comprehension. Intermediate 202 – choose between the following classes:
- Wednesdays 10-11 a.m.
- Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m. (starting August 26 and running until November 18. No classes on: September 30, October 14 & 21)
