Hebrew Classes For Winter 2012
Our hebrew program is tailored to the beginner as well as to the advanced reader.
These classes are on-going and will continue until June with a small break for Passover in April.

Hebrew Reading Courses 
Basic Reading-Level I
Dates: Mondays, March 5 -May 29
Time: 9:15 - 10:15 a.m.
Cost:$50/member, $60/nonmember
Text: Reishit Bina (included)
No Prerequisite
This is our signature entry-level class that teaches students to decode in Hebrew, and introduces them to a basic vocabulary of around 100 words, many of which are familiar from services. Flash cards, recordings of classes and "Cheat Sheets" are added to help with retention.

Basic Reading- Level II - Weekday class
Dates: WednesdaysMarch 5 -May. 14
Time: 9:15 -10:15 a.m.

Prerequisite: Ability to read Hebrew
This class will take the beginning reader a step up in their comprehension of prayer book Hebrew. We will examine and practice reading 8 popular prayers that are usually sung during services. Recordings of the lessons and other visual aids are used to help with retention. Click here to register.

The perfect solution for those who cannot make a weekday class! This class will take the beginning reader a step up in their comprehension of prayer book Hebrew. Prayerbook Beginners Class
Dates: Tuesdays, Jan. 24 - March 13

Prerequisite: Ability to read Hebrew
In this class, students practice their reading through the exploration of basic grammar concepts in Hebrew. Emphasis is on comprehension to create readers independent of English translations. Click here to register.
Prayerbook Advanced Class
Dates: Tuesdays, Jan. 17 - March 6
Time: 9:15 a.m. - 10:15 p.m.

Prerequisite: Ability to read Hebrew and demonstrate comprehension of what is read

Beginners Ulpan
Dates: Wednesday, Jan 25 - March 14
Time: noon - 1:00 p.m. (bring your lunch!)

Text: Hebrew in 30 Lessons ($25)
Prerequisite: Ability to read Hebrew
In this class, students are introduced to handwriting, reading without vowels, and vocabulary of modern day situations. Lessons are read aloud and practiced orally by all students for retention and comprehension. This is a fun and easy way to acclimate yourself with Modern Hebrew expressions and short sentences. Recordings of lessons and extra oral and written exercises are helpful in retention and in acquiring the proper pronunciation of words.

Intermediate Ulpan

Join our on-going class for reading without vowels and learning modern vocabulary. Recordings of lessons are provided for retention and developing proper pronunciation.
